- I am a retired court reporter now working part time as a proofreader. In December 2010 I returned to my roots in Deep East Texas to care for my aging mother after having lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I live on a farm in Nacogdoches County near the Louisiana border. This blog is a repository for pictures of subjects that I find interesting in my travels up and down the country roads throughout the Piney Woods. I love to take pictures of farm animals and equipment, old houses, barns and sheds and anything that has vines or rust on it.

Wow, these are gorgeous. You're a little ahead of us with the azaleas. Ours are maybe 50% in bloom.

It must smell wonderful. This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to move out of the desert. But then winter comes.
I have to say, Nacogdoches looks like a very affluent town. Lovely. Do some of the not-so beautiful homes also love the azaleas? Do they have a scent...the flowers not the not-so beautiful homes. Does the air smell like perfume?
Beautiful! Today I am freezing and even out daffodils are looking pretty sad out there. Can't wait for azaleas!
