I am a retired court reporter now working part time as a proofreader. In December 2010 I returned to my roots in Deep East Texas to care for my aging mother after having lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I live on a farm in Nacogdoches County near the Louisiana border. This blog is a repository for pictures of subjects that I find interesting in my travels up and down the country roads throughout the Piney Woods. I love to take pictures of farm animals and equipment, old houses, barns and sheds and anything that has vines or rust on it.

My neighbor grows quince. Not something you hear a lot about. One year I made quince jam from her produce. Not my favorite either!
I'm not familiar with quince. But, it does make for a nice photo with the wood fence. Btw, are you aware that 'Fences' is the next CDP theme day?
love this! you also need to link up to Jan's Friday's Fences tomorrow at

Lots of good suggestions in your comments today. Friday Fences sounds right up your alley. Beautiful contrast in this shot.
Very nice. I like it!
I'm only familiar with yellow quince, which makes nice jelly. How interesting there's a red variety too.
