This old gas station in Henderson, Texas, appears to be sporting a fresh coat of paint. I wonder what its present owners have planned for it. I also wonder what its original owners would think of today's gas prices!
I like these old time gas stations. We had a few spread out in downtown Charleston, but they are disappearing, or being converted to restaurants and stores. Wonderful image Kathy!
I am a retired court reporter now working part time as a proofreader. In December 2010 I returned to my roots in Deep East Texas to care for my aging mother after having lived in Arizona for over 30 years. I live on a farm in Nacogdoches County near the Louisiana border. This blog is a repository for pictures of subjects that I find interesting in my travels up and down the country roads throughout the Piney Woods. I love to take pictures of farm animals and equipment, old houses, barns and sheds and anything that has vines or rust on it.

Hmmm. I know what I think of today's gas prices! The rich get rich and the poor...
Interesting find....and nice in b & w. There's a place like this in Sarasota which was transformed into a house, of all things.

true! they'd probably wonder what happened to this world!
Love to see it reborn and put to use!
Aw nostalgia - for the days when my friends would toss loose change in the ashtray to help me pay for the gas. Now the ashtrays are gone, too!
Nothing like this in the Uk very nicely captured.
